Each year, Darling Homes sets out to make a difference for local charities. From volunteering at events and contributing monetary donations to dedicating time and resources, the Darling Cares program strives to lend a helping hand to those in need, showing that the homebuilder’s mission of Building Dreams with Pride goes beyond homebuilding.
This year was no different. The Texas homebuilder proudly supported the meaningful work of Dallas-area charitable organizations, including Frisco Family Services, the Boys and Girls Club of Frisco, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas and ManeGait Therapeutic Horsemanship Center.
Frisco Family Services
For more than 20 years, Frisco Family Services has dedicated time and financial contributions to support struggling families and members of the community who face hunger, homelessness and other urgent needs in the Dallas area.
Toy and food donations, holiday stocking stuffing and participation at fundraising events are just a few of the ways volunteers aim to make a difference for children, teens and adults in the community.
As part of its 2016 Darling Cares initiative, Darling Homes supported the meaningful work of Frisco Family Services with monetary donations to support struggling families.
Through financial donations, families and individuals are provided with the care and everyday essentials they need, including food, child care, utilities, prescription medication, education and more.

Boys and Girls Club of Frisco
Created to improve and grow relationships, inspire positive thinking and personal happiness and build confidence in the lives of our youth, the Boys and Girls Club of Frisco has continued to be an important resource for children and teens in need, encouraging them to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible people.
Through after-school programs, summer camps and athletics, the non-profit organization provides countless opportunities for kids to thrive in their daily lives with customized programs that meet the needs of the community and the youth.
Each year Darling Homes supports the organization’s programs and activities. This year, the homebuilder was proud to be a part of the charity’s A Wonderland of Possibilities event at the 2016 Chrysalis Ball, where Darling Homes proudly sponsored a table for the evening. The exciting event brought fun, elegance and charity to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Collin-County.

Make-A-Wish of North Texas
Approximately every 37 minutes, the Make-A-Wish Foundation grants a wish to a child suffering from a medical condition or severe disease. These children are given the opportunity to be someone, experience something, travel somewhere or meet somebody to bring happiness, energy and strength to their daily battle.
In early 2000, Darling Homes learned about Roxanne Owens, Land Analyst at Darling Homes, and her family’s journey with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas. Roxanne’s daughter, Emmily Blackburn, was diagnosed at age 3 with Moyamoya, a rare and progressive cerebrovascular disorder.
“Emmily wished for a swimming pool,” Owens said. “The foundation granted that wish for her, which started our journey with Make-A-Wish.”
In 2006, Emmily was asked to perform at the annual Make-A-Wish of North Texas Wish Night Gala, so Darling Homes purchased tickets for Owens and her daughter to attend.
Darling Homes has continued to sponsor the family with two tickets to each Wish Night Gala.
The homebuilder’s support and encouragement of the Owens family displays its commitment to team members and their families, as well as its dedication to local charities throughout Dallas and Fort Worth.

ManeGait Therapeutic Horsemanship Center
Capping a year of charitable efforts in 2016, Darling Homes supported the meaningful work of local, non-profit organization ManeGait during the Ninth Annual Gala at the ‘Gait, where nearly 800 guests, including Darling Homes employees, celebrated the organization’s commitment to the community.
Guests were greeted for the Western-themed event by ManeGait’s therapy riders and horses, as well as members of the Darling family. The gala featured live music, a culinary tasting tour (generously provided by 18 exclusive North Texas restaurants), and both live and silent auctions.
“The Gala is not only a celebration of ManeGait’s positive impact on the community, but it is also the largest fundraising event of the year for the organization. ManeGait could not serve the riders and their families without the generous support from the community,” said Zach Schneider, Land Manager for Darling Homes.
The therapeutic horsemanship center was founded by Darling Homes’ partners Bill and Priscilla Darling, which allows children and adults with disabilities to participate in equestrian exercises and therapeutic activities. With the support of volunteer hours and financial contributions, the organization is able to provide a calm and caring environment for local adults and kids.
“The Darling Homes team was honored to be part of such a wonderful evening,” Schneider said.
