Choose from a Pair of Desirable Locations

Houses for sale in Missouri City, TX at Avalon at Sienna and Sugar Land, Texas homes at Imperial are situated in beautiful master planned communities southwest of Houston.

Both locations offer proximity to major highways and are premier destinations to live, work and play.

Let’s delve deeper into what makes each location special.

The Cultural Diversity of Missouri City

Named “the most ethnically diverse county in America,” by the New York Times, Fort Bend County offers a unique blend of cultures that showcases a different vision for the future of Texas.

Approximately one-third of the county’s residents were born outside of the United States and the demographics of the region are so diverse, you can find people with roots from all over the world.

From food to music to art and a dynamic think-tank of cross-cultural idea sharing, Missouri City, TX offers the same breadth of diversity found in giant cities without all the stresses that come with life in a dense urban environment.

Missouri City is home to big-time celebrities, too. Singer, songwriter and record producer Travis Scott is from Missouri City and last year he was ceremoniously handed the keys to the city. During his acceptance speech he said, “This is better than any award show I’ve ever been to. My only job is just to inspire kids to be the best they can be, to reach their ultimate height.”

Hop on the Sugar Land Train

Be within all your favorites within 10 minutes when you make the move to the CIty Collection

Sugar Land is one of the fasted-growing cities in Texas and one of the most-affluent, too. With rapid population growth and a rise in employment opportunities to match, the city is a fantastic base for settling in for a bright future.

While Sugar Land is of course known as the headquarters for the famed Imperial Sugar Company, a large percentage of the city’s residents are educated white collar employees working in Houston’s energy sector. Schlumberger, a major oil services enterprise relocated its offices to Sugar Land in 1995 and many other large businesses have followed suit. In fact, Outlook Magazine and Texas Business both named Sugar Land as one of the top ten cities in Texas for relocating or growing a business.

But it’s not all work and no play in Sugar Land. The town loves their minor-league baseball team, the Sugar Land Skeeters, and a variety of events are held annually at Constellation Field.

  • Sugar Land Skeeters at Constellation Field | 1 Stadium Drive, Sugar Land | 281.207.9128

A massive development project called the Imperial Market is underway. When open, the complex will add an additional urban facet to this growing Houston suburb.

Celebrating the Southwest’s Largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade

St. Patrick’s Day in Dallas is bigger than life. In fact, it’s the largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the Southwest! This year, The Dallas St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Taking place on Saturday, March 16, the parade is presented by the Greenville Avenue Area Business Association (GAABA), a Texas nonprofit organization.

The purpose of the parade is not only to celebrate the holiday, but also to raise money for the GAABA Scholarship Fund. More than $115,000 in scholarship money has been awarded to Dallas Independent School District students.

The Southwest’s largest St, Patrick’s Day parade almost ended before it could gain its legendary status. When the parade first began in 1979, it was nothing more than just a few cars, drinks and a dream. As word spread about this small neighborhood celebration, attendance began to increase. As attendance grew, neighboring residents voiced their concerns about the parade to the Dallas City Council and it was shut down in 1987.

Luckily, a group of local business owners formed the GAABA and fought to persuade the city to accept the parade’s application. The public’s demand for the parade also helped sway the decision to bring it back through their idea of an “un-parade” where make-shift floats read “this is not a parade”. Soon after, the city granted the permit for the 1989 Greenville Avenue St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Now, 40 years later, the parade continues. This year’s event is sponsored by numerous local radio stations, Comerica Bank, 7-Eleven, iHeartRadio, The Dallas Mavericks, Visit Dallas and many other local businesses.

More than 1,700 people participate in the parade itself and there are more than 90 parade float entries to pass through the 2-mile parade route, overlooking the crowd of 125,000 or more people in attendance. The festival starts at 9 a.m. and goes until 3 p.m. The parade begins at 11 a.m., starting at Blackwell Street and Greenville Avenue before finishing at Yale Boulevard/SMU Boulevard.

After the parade, the festival continues with the annual St. Patrick’s Day Concert. This year will feature performances from Just Like P!nk and more who will cover 40 years of music featuring hits from Guns N’ Roses, Britney Spears, P!nk, Muse, Nirvana, Prince, The Beastie Boys, Queen, Michael Jackson, Salt-N-Pepa, Rage Against the Machine, Aerosmith, Nelly and many more.
