Organizing your Darling Homes Kitchen

With Darling Homes, your kitchen is built for efficiency from the start with a distinctively designed work triangle comprised of the fridge, sink and cooktop. This ensures everything is within reach from preparation, to cooking and cleaning.

This leading Texas homebuilder helps homeowners create a kitchen meant for everyday use by offering upgrades that help with organization, including silverware and knife drawers, trash pull-outs, wine glass and bottle storage and the choice to have pull-out drawers instead of shelves in bottom cabinets.

After purchasing and personalizing your Darling Homes gourmet kitchen, it’s time to start filling your space with cooking gadgets, cookbooks, pots and pans.

While moving in, it’s important to consider which items are most useful in your everyday life, from pots and pans, to dishware and food storage containers. These heavily-used objects are best kept within the cabinets closest to the work triangle.

Use this method throughout the kitchen, with frequently used items close at hand and lesser used objects further away to help create a natural flow for cooking new recipes and cleaning up. For example, keep plates, cups, mugs, utensils and other everyday tableware near the stovetop, fridge and dishwasher.

For essentials, such as coffee, tea, sugar and flour, find chic countertop or pantry containers with easy-access lids to help cut down on prep time and provide stylish storage space.

For larger utensils, such as spatulas, whisks and more, a countertop storage unit or designated drawer can provide ample space and store various sizes of items conveniently. Shelf organizers, spice racks and knife blocks help keep different kitchen necessities separate but easy to access for food preparation.

Real Simple magazine lists other tips and tricks to adopt for kitchen organization, like dividing drawers, using trendy baskets for additional storage, and keeping your countertops clear by hanging paper lists and calendars on the wall.

After moving in to your Darling dream home, how will you organize your kitchen for culinary success?

Personalizing your Darling Homes kitchen

Darling Homes in Dallas and Houston are built with quality, comfort and innovative design in mind. A signature feature of Darling Homes is the incredible workspace in the gourmet kitchens, set up to be the ideal space for cooking at home.

Starting with a distinctively designed work triangle, with the fridge, sink and cooktop set up so that everything is within reach from preparation, to cooking and cleaning.

This work triangle is the basis of every Darling Homes kitchen space. Kitchen designs also include islands and an abundant amount of cabinets and counter space for storage, cooking and living. Sizeable pantries, located near the essential work triangle, offer ample storage space for food and essential kitchen supplies.

When it comes to creating the perfect kitchen, Darling Homes starts with functionality and adds incredible products and finishes, from the faucets to the backsplashes and lighting that create timeless and sophisticated spaces.

Lee Crowder, Design Gallery and Model Home Branding Manager for Darling Homes, shared some insight into how the homebuilder chooses materials that make a kitchen simultaneously timeless and trendy. When it comes to the cabinets, counters and backsplash, Crowder noted there are a few color combinations that always work well together.

“Pairing a stained cabinet with a light granite and offsetting dark cabinets with lighter countertops and backsplashes always works well,” Crowder said. Stained cabinets and painted cabinets in white or grey tones are popular and create classic kitchen designs.

Quartz countertops are beautiful and easy to clean and pair well with a lot of cabinets and backsplashes, according to Crowder. Making the island a statement piece by changing up the color can be a great way to personalize your kitchen area.

“The kitchen is a place where you can diverge in design from the rest of the house by mixing up metals in things like light fixtures and faucets,” Crowder said.

For a backsplash, which can bring out personality in design, Crowder recommends tiles in large rectangular, herringbone or even patterned designs.

The kitchen is at the heart of every Darling home, open to living areas and transitional spaces. Finding the right design elements for your Darling Homes kitchen can make a big difference when personalizing your dream home.

Experiencing the Darling Difference

When you walk into a Darling Homes model, it should already feel like home. Lee Crowder, Design Gallery and Model Home Branding Manager, discusses how every element of a Darling home is thoughtfully planned from the location to the design and sales experience to create a unique, positive experience for Dallas and Houston homebuyers.

“When you first walk into a Darling home, it really should feel like you’re coming to someone’s house. You should hear the music, smell the scent, it should feel special – like someone is welcoming you into their house,” Crowder said.

Highest Quality Locations

Long before construction begins, Darling Homes works to create the best possible experience for shoppers – starting with location. Whether you’re seeking a cozy neighborhood, a gated community or resort-style amenities, Darling has a something to fit your desires.

“Location is where people start their journey,” Crowder said. “It’s about amenities, school districts, the lifestyle that you want, and then finding the home plan that works for you.”

Innovating Designs

Darling’s homes designs appeal to a broad range of homebuyers and include many attributes not commonly found elsewhere. One thing that the homebuilder always provides its customers is a home filled with authentic architectural touches that you notice from the moment you enter the front door.

“Details are what it’s all about,” Crowder said.

Some of Darling Homes’ signature attributes come through in design details, such as thoughtfully planned transitions. These can take form in spacious entryways with arches that define different living areas, while providing a natural flow throughout the home.

Pairing varied ceiling heights, such as high ceilings in the living room with lower heights in dining areas, create an intimate volume that helps sound disperse through the home and creates a cozy atmosphere.

Another element that Crowder said stands out in the home designs is the placement of the study.

“In a lot of homes, the office space is right in the front when you walk in. In many of our larger products, we make sure to put the study in the back of the house so that it is private and truly is an extension of the workplace,” Crowder said.

Commitment to the Customer Experience

From homesite selection to interior personalization at the Design Gallery, Darling Homes is dedicated to giving customers an individualized and enjoyable experience.

“Hopefully, you feel and see something in yourself in the models,” Crowder said. “It should be a personalized experience, like something you would do with a friend or family.”

(Community) Sales Managers dedicate time to talk to shoppers to ensure they find the right home design for their lifestyle. From start to finish, the Darling team works together to provide a memorable journey for Texas homebuyers.

“I hope that when people walk through our models they’re inspired and excited,” Crowder said. “I hope it makes them feel at ease and excited about a future they didn’t know was within their grasp.”
